RECOMMENDED. CASH ONLY. In comparison to the BEST brunch and breakfast places ran by elite chefs in chicago, its a 4... In comparison to competing places nearby, its an easy 5. If you're checking out goldys, youre probably in the burbs anyway... Mostly for good quality food, pricing (coffee included in most entrees), and also because they offer a good variety of meats (we don't eat pork). The included coffee isnt gourmet - but its decent: not burnt and nasty like gas stations. Most of the other local diner breakfast places in this area have dreadful coffee... This is as good as bfast gets in the burbs.

This is a throwback to the diners of my youth. Not fancy, just good, old fashioned, stick to your ribs tasty eats. Belly up to the counter and watch the cook do his thing or grab a booth and read the paper or watch the ball game. I've only been here for breakfast a couple of times and I feel right at home. The food is not fancy - it's a diner! Hearty is more like it. The place feels a bit cluttered and worn a bit, but that gives it that homey atmosphere that makes me nostalgic. Prices are good too. I'll come back. You might have to look for this little place, but you should go.

The food is fine. Nothing seems to be homemade (hash, hollandaise) which to me is disappointing. I can understand hollandaise (slightly) but not the hash. Waitress and bus "boy" were not the friendliest. The waitress walked away several times during our visit making us wonder if she even heard us. Would we go back? Eh, I think we'll stick with Mac's on Higgins.

Food just ok, Like home cooking is just done, sevice is ok all the while the servers are stocking consumables. Bottom line it gets very loud and almost deafing. CASH ONLY!! In todays world you have to work for the customer if you want returning business.

Looking for a quick place to eat breakfast i stopped at Goldy's diner and boy i did not like it. Bad food. Disappointing service.

Them seen to be a little nicer to their regular customers. For a small diner I thought the prices were a little high for what you get and you leave smelling like hash browns. Food was just OK, nothing special. Cash only and we didn't realize but they were nice and let us return to pay. CASH ONLY

As far as I'm concerned, goldys is the best there ever was and the best there ever will be when it comes to diners! I have been going here for years and have tried just about everything on the menu. Breakfast and lunch... You can't beat it!!! The staff is super friendly and recognize their customers. The food is the best around hands down. My personal favorite is the eggs and corn beef hash.... Soooo yummy! Ps... They take pics of all their regulars and put them on the wall. Whenever I'm there I get to say hi to my late grandmother :)

Great little old school diner for brunch, and nice to have near home. They've been here 11 years I'm told. It was really busy on a Sunday and the little strip mall parking lot was almost filled with just their customers. They are a bunch of friendly folks, and have been here 11 years I'm told. An older guy told me our table was smoking, I hesitated for a milli -second, and he laughed and said he got me. Coffee is priced into their breakfast specials, and prices are very reasonable. I'd go with 4.5 stars. We tried their corned beef hash skillet (includes coffee for $8.95). Pancakes substitute for the side was $0.65 extra. I tried the thick french toast ($4.60). Overall, I would say 4.5 stars. High marks for the nostagia factor. The only thing holding them back is maybe the taste/quality of say the pancakes and french toast wasn't tip-top, but plenty good enough, especially at the prices. Cash only here.

Great little local diner. Nice and cozy, great place to get breakfast on a Sunday.

As far as diners go this place Rocks! Solid service, fresh food, crispy fries, perfectly cooked eggs, juicy cheeseburgers and great club sandwiches! The soups are always fresh and yummy too! An A+ diner.

If you want breakfast this is the spot. Bring cash, but not much of it because the prices are pretty good. Their chops are so yummy. Ham and cheese omelette is a decent size and offers lots of ham. To go or sit down, service is always on point!

Been to Goldy's twice. Both times for breakfast. No wait. Decent prices. Plenty of good food. I've tried the eggs & pancakes...and the ham & cheese omellett. Both were really good. About $7 for the omellete, hash browns & pancakes is hard to turn down. If you're one of those atmosphere people...then you'd get a kick out of this place to. Small and intimate. Only 1 long counter top with stools, and 1 row of booths. You can see the chefs cook right over the counter.

Prices were quite reasonable for the amount of food provided, and service was very friendly. It had an old-school feel to it that I really enjoyed. I went on a weekday for an early lunch and there was quite a crowd there already, though parking wasn't a struggle--though I could see how one might need to park on a side street nearby if there were a lot of people at the strip mall. I'd definitely go back for breakfast or lunch in the future.

Goldy's Motto: Small Place Great Taste! Goldy's motto is right on! The food is excellent and the atmosphere is a cozy and clean neighborhood diner. I have yet to be disappointed. If you're a soup aficionado you'll love this place! I am pretty sure the soups are homemade. They are hearty and flavorful. My favorites are Cream of Cheddar Spinach Soup, Cream of Cheddar Potato Bacon Soup, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Beef Barley Soup and Split Pea and Ham Soup. Those are just a few of the varieties of soups they serve. They post two varieties of soups daily. The daily breakfast and lunch specials are always listed as you walk in. You can get breakfast until 3pm! Since breakfast is my favorite meal I am glad I am not limited on what time I need to order. The eggs are always done right to order. They serve everything from burgers to wraps to Ruben Sandwiches. The service is great! The servers are polite and grateful for your business. They like to get to know you and they are always happy to greet you and welcome you back. I can sit watch the chef cook all day! He is super fast! Before you know it your meal is ready! They only serve breakfast and lunch. Monday through Saturday the hours are from 6am to 3pm. Sunday hours are 7am to 2pm. The prices are very reasonable. The amount of food you are served is plenty! I highly recommend this wonderful gem in the neighborhood! Ask the locals they are regulars!

incredible clean, great owners, friendly staff. best deal in town, and also very creative meal solutions! I had the turkey sausage egg benedict and it was to die for! not to mention that their hashbrowns are made from fresh potatoes right on location! my husband had the gyros omlette with feta cheese, how cool is that? extremely great prices too...

Just went to Goldy's for the first time 2 weeks ago, and already made it back this morning. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet the first time and a meat lovers skillet the second time. My wife ordered an omelet with avocado the first time and just eggs, hash browns, and toast this time. Both times our food was cooked perfect, they were very accommodating for our 9 month old daughter, and we received top notch service! After my trip today, I went to Yelp to figure out why I never stumbled upon it in the past. When doing a search for Breakfast and Brunch in Park Ridge, it didn't even show up...not sure why. When searching for Goldy's specifically, I found that they got great reviews, so hopefully this review helps people find this great little hidden gem!

The diner is small but cozy. The food is incredible. Just ate the most amazing corn beef sandwich. The beef was full of flavor, lean, and good size portion. I can't wait to back!

Cosy dinner with good home cooking! Tasty soups and sandwiches; very affordable prices.

We were very excited to try Goldy's after seeing the rave reviews on yelp. We sat all the way in the back next to a beverage center, a large broken mirror and a door to the kitchen that was always open. Not the best table location but we tried to remain hopeful our food would be good. The food was ok, nothing to really get excited about. Our service was absolutely terrible and the floors and walls were dirty. The treated us like we were more of an inconvenience vs customers paying to eat there. At one point, my husband noticed there was a plastic "to go" lid at the bottom of his coffee mug. He asked our waitress if he could get a new cup and again, she seemed very irritated and grabbed his cup. (don't bother apologizing...) bottom line, disappointed and probably will not be back. Also, Cash only.

This place rocks, compared to some of the other places in the area that are also rated highly. Goldy's is a fairly small diner, but very clean and cozy. Ordered the skillet and it was done to perfection and nothing was skimped on. But the best part was that the meal was piping hot, this is something that I have not seen in quite a while. Coffee was plentiful and hot. Waitress was definitely on her game. The oddest thing is that the restroom is located back in the kitchen/dishwashing area. It felt funny walking back there while they are back there washing dishes, felt like maybe washing a plate or two. For you GPS junkies out there, Goldy's is spelled Goldies, if you are doing a search by the name.

Food is good but they claim to close at 3 and if you get thee at 230 they look at you stupid like you are annoying them. Sorry for the inconvenience! Ill just inconveintly spend my money at another place.
(3)June P.
I had the Thick French Toast, Denver Omelet w/ side of Hashbrowns. Bfast was like average home cooking, and nothing special. Place was cozy and service was excellent. Unless, I'm nearby, I probably won't stop by again. Walker Bros. is way better.
(3)Melissa S.
I love this place because I've been going there for so long and their eggs Benedict rock! Great hollindase sauce! The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. They're always packed on the weekends so watch out you might end up waiting a little while since they don't have many tables. This place is like a home style diner... you can watch them make your food right there behind the counter, it's incredible how fast the cook is.

This place is clean, tasty, friendly and efficient. Good coffee, eggs are always done right, great sausage, polite, fast. Its exactly what your neighborhood diner should be. Great stop for a delicious breakfast.

This is my favorite place to eat in in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly, the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. If you live in Park Ridge and have not visited this place, you are missing out. The patty melt and any of the skillets are my favorite! The only downside is that you must bring cash, as credit card is not accepted.
